It is the first tenet of the revolutionary movement in every country that there must be a revolutionary party built according to the revolutionary theory and revolutionary style of Marxism-Leninism. This is impossible if forces in our movement hesitate or capitulate to the attack on Marxist revolutionary theory on the international situation.
In other words, a revolutionary party in the US can only be founded on the basis of a program which clearly recognizes the theory of three worlds and which applies it concretely to the international situation.
The theory of three worlds is also decisive in our mass work. Most particularly it governs the stance we take towards imperialist war. Forces who attack the theory of three worlds belittle the fact that war is inevitable at the present time and that the people of the world must get prepared. Without any basis in logic they counterpose preparation for war to preparation for revolution and try to argue that if you do one you will belittle the other. This is nonsense. A revolution is a civil war of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie and here in the US our main task in imperialist war is to turn that war into civil war. Our objective then must be to prepare for revolution under conditions of imperialist war.
The world over, developing the unity and struggle of the united front against superpower hegemonism is our best guarantee against imperialist war. Whether war comes in the near future or is postponed for a time, the people of the world will be in the most favorable position to the degree that the united front has developed.
The US people also are part of the international united front against superpower hegemonism. We make our biggest contribution to that united front by making proletarian revolution. Right now our job is to accumulate revolutionary strength. An important aspect of that task is to give concrete aid and support to the countries and peoples of the third world and to all peoples subject to superpower domination in a common struggle against superpower hegemonism.
