In a series of coordinated police agent-type actions, the so-called Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) has sharply escalated its attacks on the Chinese people, China’s socialist revolution, and the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.
RCP members in Atlanta staged a cowardly night-time raid Aug. 26 on Prairie Fire Book Center as well as on the offices of the Southern Conference Educational Fund (SCEF). In these raids, RCP nightriders spray painted anti-China slogans on the walls and attempted to deface the buildings with posters advertising their phony “memorial” meetings for Mao Tsetung.
In fact, RCP’s “memorial” meetings for Chairman Mao are designed as all-out attacks on his revolutionary teachings. The political content of these meetings is to try to drum up support in this country for the reactionary “gang of four” in China, who were overthrown by the Chinese people when they tried to restore capitalism in the wake of Mao Tsetung’s death two years ago.
One of RCP’s spray-painted slogans openly proclaimed support for the “gang of four” saying “Hail our Gang!” The rest of the RCP graffitti consisted of obscenities directed at China’s new leader, Hua Kuo-feng, as well as the CPML in this country.
In Houston, meanwhile, RCPers carried on in the same vein, plastering posters all over the area near the Contemporary Art Museum, where the exhibit of Chinese peasant paintings from Huhsien County is currently showing. The fact that RCP would attack this exhibit, whose “tour of the U.S. has done so much to promote the cause of U.S.-China friendship, shows RCP’s fundamental opposition to that cause.
It was only a few months back that RCP ringleader Bob Avakian and his crew were claiming that they “had no position” on China and were only “studying” what had happened since the death of Mao Tsetung. In fact, Avakian was supporting the “gang of four” all along, and only waiting for the opportune moment to declare RCP’s support for these reactionaries in public.
With almost half their organization having split recently in opposition to these attacks on China, Avakian has been forced to come out in the open with his anti-China line. No matter how much he tries to wave the banner of Chairman Mao, it is quite apparent that RCP’s political line has nothing in common with Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tsetung Thought.
RCP’s latest social-fascist tactics only reveal the desperation and frenzy that results from their total inability to win any support for their anti-China line.
