Agreements and motions (this includes only such motions as came to a vote):
2) Contradictions are not considered antagonistic unless the bourgeois line is characteristic of the line as a whole. The method of struggle among Marxist-Leninists is unity/struggle/unity. The form of struggle between opposing views and ideas in the Marxist-Leninist movement is non-antagonistic. TABLED.
3) We do not make political decisions until we define what the Journal is, i.e., on what level we are building political line. DEFEATED.
4) Canadian Revolution re-affirms that it is a grouping of Marxist-Leninists and rejects the views that the Journal may be defined to include “any who call themselves Marxist-Leninist” or persons considered to be counter-revolutionaries.
Because Canadian Revolution is a grouping of Marxist-Leninists, contradictions over line among members are handled through persuasion in open and private debate, even if the specific two-line struggle is considered an antagonistic contradiction between the bourgeois and proletarian line. When a group or individual is characterized by bourgeois lines as their principal aspect and such contradictions are not rectified through immediate struggle, this situation is the basis for division (split or expulsion). Agreement to these principled methods of viewing internal struggle is necessary for Journal membership. AGREED.
5) Canadian Revolution agrees in principle that CPC(M-L) is outside the Marxist-Leninist movement and that draft positions be prepared for the journal discussion on the statement of unity. AGREED.
6) Canadian Revolution put forward in its Editorial in issue no 4, a summation of this meeting based on consensus or majority decisions, on how Marxist-Leninists should approach two-line struggle, and the handling of antagonistic and non-antagonistic contradictions. That notice also be served in the editorial of our intention to reply to the criticisms of the Guelph Workers Commitee. AGREED.
7) Formal positions to be received by collective members 3 days before any meeting to which such positions relate. AGREED.
8) The chair will prepare an agenda based on consideration of formal positions available. AGREED.
9) The secretary will distribute the minutes of this meeting before the next meeting. AGREED.
