Comrade Hardial Bains, Chairman of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist), led the first ever delegation from Canada to visit the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Party of Labour of Albania from March 24 to, May 2, 1977. We hailed this visit and pointed out “PCDN is certain that with this visit to the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania an all-sided exchange between the people of Canada and the people of Albania will resolutely and irresistibly develop in the coming months and years.” This is already coming true.
Since the visit of ihe CPC(M-L) delegation, a Party activists’ delegation consisting of twenty-five comrades and led by Comrade A. Waldman has visited the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania from August 20 to September 3, 1977. The Party activists’ delegation was a tremendous success and comrades of CPC{M-L} returned home with deep and warm feelings for the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. These comrades have prepared a slide show which they will show in Montreal during the closing rally of the Fifth Consultative Conference of CPC(ML). They are also writing their impressions of the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania and a pamphlet Progressive Canadian View of the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania will be available for readers before the end of the year. Another Party activists’ delegation is now getting organized to visit the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania in the near future.
The relations between the Canadian Workers’ Association and the Central Council of the Albanian Trade Unions have begun to develop. The relations between the Communist Youth Union of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) and the Labour Youth Union of Albania have also been initiated. Already, there exist relations between the National Publications Centre and the Distribution Centre of Albanian Books. Relations between other mass organizations are bound to develop in the future.
An Ad-Hoc Committee to establish the Canada-Albania Friendship Association has been established in Montreal in order to promote people-to-people friendship. This Ad-Hoc Committee has established Albania Study Groups in order to promote discussion about life in the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. The Albania Study Groups are at different levels of development in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Those comrades who have already visited the People Socialist Republic of Albania are playing an important role in these study groups. The Ad-Hoc Committee to establish the Canada-Albania Friendship Association is organizing week-long activities during the last week of November and a conference will soon be organized to further develop the work on this front. The Ad-Hoc Committee is encouraging all those who have friendly sentiment towards the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania, irrespective of their political sentiments and affiliations, to work for the founding of the Canada-Albania Friendship Association.
Certain individuals are also working hard to promote trade and cultural relations with the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania, A company is being established to provide information about the possibilities of trade with the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. These individuals are also planning tours to the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania for the coming year.
There exist deep feelings of friendship and solidarity among the progressive Canadian people for the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. Comrade Hardial Bains spoke to hundreds of people during his nation-wide tour alter his visit to the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. During this Report on Albania programme, workers, students and other people expressed immense interest in the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania and showed profound interest in developing all-sided relations with the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. These comrades who visited Albania as part of the Party activists’ delegation are now planning meetings in their areas to present their impressions about the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. Communist workers who visited Albania are organizing small study groups on Albania in their work places and the communist students and other intellectuals are taking up the work in the universities and other educational institutions.

The People’s Socialist Republic of Albania is the only genuinely socialist country in the world today. The People’s Socialist Republic of Albania is the liberated base area of world proletarian revolution and the Marxist-Leninists and revolutionaries from all over the world look towards the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania with deep love and warmth and draw tremendous inspiration from the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania in order to carry on their own struggles. The Party of Labour of Albania, the sole leader of the state of the dictatorship of the proletariat in Albania is a genuine Marxist-Leninist party which is leading the struggle against revisionism and opportunism of all hues on the world scale. Comrade Enver Hoxha is a great Marxist-Leninist whose Report to the Seventh Congress of the Party of Labour of Albania is the theory and practice of communism and a political programme suited to the concrete conditions prevailing on the world scale today. Our Party deeply values its relations with the Party of Labour of Albania and learns from the PLA in order to concretely lead the struggles against the Canadian reactionary bourgeoisie and U.S. imperialism and against Soviet social-imperialism.
PCON hails the developing all-sided relations between the people of Canada and the people of Albania. We are certain that these fraternal relations between the people of the two countries will contribute tremendously to the struggle against imperialism, social-imperialism, all reactionaries and revisionists and opportunists of all hues.
